Hotel Quite Acceptable But In The Daylight It Is Out In The Boonies, St. Louis.
The sky is grey. In the large downstairs lounge Pat returns, says Starbucks is too far on foot & instead he settles for a complementary coffee from the large urns set up on the bar. Pat is headed back to his room for an interview.
The downstairs lounge is loosely styled on a version of English posh c. 1910. While sipping on the coffee, I enjoyed the more-than-competent oil paintings of conventional subjects. Surprisingly, the lounge is a smoking area, with a strong wafting of cigar when we checked in yesterday evening.
Now, despite greyness outside & the absence of anything within walking distance, my hotel room is quite acceptable. Mozart is Powerbook-playing & the screensaver is a view of Bredonborough from the Abbey tower, with home and new World HQ clearly visible. Apple-on-the-road has contributed significantly to my touring life.
